Cardinal Vaughan Memorial Secondary School
Roman Catholic boys school with mixed Sixth Form. Boys from the age of 11-19, girls are admitted to the sixth form. The Vaughan School was founded in 1914 and is England’s memorial to Cardinal Herbert Vaughan, the third Archbishop of Westminster. Situated in Holland Park, West London, the School is one of the highest achieving State Comprehensives in the country. Our most important aim is the Christian formation of our young people. In achieving that aim we are anxious to cater for pupils of all abilities and to maintain high academic standards. Awarded the Evening Standard Award for Academic Achievement and with Specialisms in Maths, Computing and Science, the Vaughan offers outstanding opportunities to its pupils both academically and in the fields of sports, music and the arts.
Church of England Academy built to cater for 810 11-16 year olds and 250 sixth form students. It is a Church of England school specialising in the sciences. The Academy has an inclusive atmosphere in which students of different faith traditions and world views learn to share their perspectives with confidence and respect. Students of all faiths, and those of no faith, are just as much at home in the Academy as those from Christian backgrounds. This Christian Academy, by teaching those of different faiths to learn about and from each other, helps to foster the mutual regard and tolerance needed in a modern multi-cultural society.
Holland Park Community School (has a pool)
Mixed local authority school for 11-19 year olds. Wide range of subjects, including all National Curriculum subjects, GCSE A’ Level and vocational courses GNVQs at advanced, intermediate, foundation and BTEC level. Holland Park is a highly successful and over-subscribed comprehensive school in theheart of west central London. It is recognised as “an outstanding school” by Ofsted, recorded as one of the country’s top performing specialist Humanities Colleges and praised in the Good Schools Guide as a school which “has seen a steep and continuing rise in results”.
